Privacy Policy

Who runs this site

This website is operated by Cythère, a one-person studio run by Jim Forsius. For any privacy-related question or request, contact: jimforsius@gmail.com.

For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Cythère is the data controller for the personal data described below.

What I collect

This is a static portfolio site. It does not set its own cookies and runs no analytics or tracking. Personal data is only involved in three places:

  • Contact & project forms. When you submit a form (e.g. "Start a project" or "Join the circle"), you provide details such as your name, email address, and your message. These forms are hosted by Tally.
  • Web fonts. The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. To deliver the fonts, your browser connects to Google's servers, which receives your IP address.
  • Server logs. My hosting provider may automatically record standard technical data (IP address, browser type, time of request) to operate and secure the site.

Why I use it & legal basis

  • Form data — to respond to your enquiry and discuss possible work. Legal basis: your consent and/or steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract.
  • Fonts & server logs — to display the site correctly and keep it secure and operational. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

Who it's shared with

I don't sell your data. It is processed only by the service providers needed to run the site:

  • Tally — form hosting. See Tally's privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts — font delivery. See Google's privacy policy.
  • My hosting provider — serving the website.

Some of these providers may process data outside the EU/EEA under appropriate safeguards.

How long it's kept

Form submissions are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting project, and then deleted. Server logs are kept for a short period as set by the hosting provider.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email jimforsius@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Finland, the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman).

Changes

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change with it.
